EXCERPT:
Struggling to her feet, Narsi clutched the robed legs of her sister-in-law, Gulshun. Strong hands pulled Narsi up as tears mingled with blood, distorting her vision. A roaring mob swirled around them like colors in her daughter’s kaleidoscope. At the thought of her daughter, Narsi choked on a sob.
“Qiturah…” A soft, round cheek appeared in her mind’s eye and her lips tingled with a kiss ungiven.
